The Workshop 2020, open to the public, is being held in the context of the Pontifical Academy for Life General Assembly on Artificial Intelligence . The 2020 Workshop is also following on from the 2019 gathering on Roboethics.

The fields of robotics and artificial intelligence are distinct, but closely related. They both contain so much information and so many anthropological and ethical questions in themselves that we are dedicating two assemblies to these subjects. We hope that, by having two different assemblies dedicated to two different aspects of the larger field of robotic technologies in general, we can address the opportunities and challenges of these inter-connected technologies in greater depth.

The President of the Pontifical Academy for Life, Abp. Vincenzo Paglia, notes that “in these last number of years the Academy has shown a specific interest in new technologies, dedicating the two-year period 2019-2020 to robo-ethics and to ethical-anthropological questions connected to the so-called artificial intelligences. The Academy is working in relation to what was requested by the Pope, who urged the Academy to enter the territories of science and technology and to follow them with courage and discernment”

This special symposium examines the role that religion plays in providing holistic care in the context of medical ethics. By focusing on the intersection of belief-based and evidence-based approaches to care, speakers and participants will have the opportunity to highlight and explore the benefits of interdisciplinary and interfaith approaches to treating the body, mind and soul.

Najaarsbijeenkomst van het Netwerk Katholieke Zorgprofessionals Nederland.

Het blijft lastig om je geloof te integreren in het werk van alledag. Op 22 juni 2019 vond op initiatief van de de internationale artsenorganisatie FIAMC in Rome de toewijding van artsen aan het H. Hart van Jezus plaats. Voor de aanwezigen was het een inspirerende gelegenheid om te bekijken hoe het geloof handen en voeten kan krijgen in het leven van alledag en in het werk in de gezondheidszorg. Op 23 november willen we verder nadenken over dit onderwerp en het met elkaar bekijken hoe het praktisch handen en voeten kan krijgen in het alledaagse werk in de gezondheidszorg.

Form to be filled in and sent to FIAMC segretary, Silvija Vasilj. She is registering all participants to the Consecration-Papal Audience.
For the meeting: we will have Friday, from 9AM to 4.30 PM  a preparation time in CIAM (Urbanian University) close to St Peter. Indications are provided in FIAMC website about it and how to join CIAM.  At 5 pm we will have the Holy Mass  with the consecration in St Peter Basilica.
For  the lodging: you can make a reservation in Madri Pie, indicating that you are a FIAMC member.

Participants to the consecration are supposed to make their own arrangements for the lodging. But the easier way is to make a reservation in madri Pie.
A small contribution (donation) will probably be asked to the participants in order to cover the fees of renting the CIAM auditorium. But nothing is yet decided about that.

Advanced European Bioethics Course 

Van 19 tot 22 maart 2019 wordt de 21 editie van de advanced European Bioethics Course ‘Suffering, Death and Palliative Care’ georganiseerd door sectie Ethiek van de Gezondheidszorg van de afdeling IQ healthcare, Radboudumc Nijmegen.

Deze vierdaagse cursus behandelt een scala aan ethische onderwerpen rond lijden en sterven, palliatieve zorg en medische ondersteund sterven. Er zal door experts uitvoerig worden ingegaan op de medische, filosofische, theologische en ethische grondslagen van deze concepten. Er is veel ruimte voor discussie met deze experts en met uw mede-cursisten.

De key-note lecture zal worden gehouden door by prof. Luc Deliens, Director of the End-of-Life Care Research Group, professor of Palliative Care Research, Vrije Universiteit Brussels and Ghent University.

Voertaal van deze cursus is Engels en de cursus richt zich op deelnemers met verschillende professionele achtergronden zoals geneeskunde, verpleegkunde, geestelijk verzorging, filosofie, theologie en PhD studenten op al deze gebieden. ABAN accreditatie wordt aangevraagd bij de KNMG, voor geestelijk verzorgers wordt accreditatie aangevraagd bij de SKGV.
